The trend of moving matrix switching into the Ethernet network is inevitable and SDVoE already delivers capabilities far beyond that of a traditional matrix switch. Historically it has been simple to design AV over IP systems of up to 96 I/Os using a single switch using Layer-2 Multicast IGMP. MG21 is a Meraki cellular gateway device. It will allow customers to use Meraki gear with cellular as a primary active uplink. MG21 only has a cellular connection as its uplink and acts as a wired uplink to devices that are attached to it (i.e., MX or any other router). MG21 can work with any routing device, Meraki or non-Meraki. With additional 802.3af compatibility, the MG can be placed anywhere and powered via power over ethernet (PoE) like any access point.
